Maria Takes the Lead

With a Kansas Jayhawk victory, Maria is now in the lead going into the Championship game.

This has become one of the most exciting Bowl Pick contests we have had in years. Three people are still in it to the end. The winning team may determine who wins, or it may come down to the tie breaker.

Dad can win with an LSU victory and a combined point total of 32 points (Actually Mom & Dad would still be tied if 32 combined points are scored in this scenario). This is certainly possible as both teams are among the top defenses in the country and championship games are usually low scoring.

Mom can win with an LSU victory and a combined point total of 32-50 points. The Orange Bowl was a good game and had a point total of 45 points. A similar game with LSU on top and Mom would win.

Maria can win straight up with an Ohio State victory. If LSU were to win she is still in a three way tie for first. The magic number here is 51 points. This is certainly possible as the previous games averaged 57 points. Also Ohio State averages 32 points per game and LSU averages 38.69 points per game.
